I grew up around Shelby, NC. I graduated from Crest High School in 1999 as Salutatorian and entered Duke to earn a BA in History. While at Duke, I became involved with Brownstone (a co-ed selective living group), worked with the Eddy Collection of Musical Instruments, and worked at the Duke University Primate Center (now known as the Duke Lemur Center). My academic interests at Duke were varied. They ranged from primate behavior and English Literature to historical studies of musical instruments, science, and technology. I currently study at Oxford, where I earned a Masters of Science in the History of Science, and am working on my doctorate at the Museum of the History of Science. I am a member of St Cross College and I reside in Oxford with my wonderful wife, Jill. I am the proud owner of Phoenix, the dog.
