While we were gone for Christmas, Phoenix stayed at a new kennel. His old kennel, Charney Kennels, was a great place but being in Faringdon, it was quite a distance away. That made it difficult for us to get him there and back, despite the fact that he seemed to really like being there!

So, when planning our trip home for Christmas this year, we looked for a kennel closer to Oxford. We found it in Archway Boarding Kennels in Garsington. Before Christmas, we visited them with Phoenix and they were very friendly and he seemed to like it. He went there the Friday before we left and we picked him up yesterday. He returned in good health and good spirits, but more than that, the lady at the kennel seemed to have become really attacted to him (an easy thing to do)! In addition, they did several small things which made his stay better … such as they noticed that he did not use the dog bed, so they replaced it with shredded newspaper, which he did use as bedding (probably because he likes to arrange it himself) … and they feed him turkey and gravy on Christmas day!

Overall, I would recommend them as a kennel and we will be taking him back there the next time we need to kennel him.
